This is the first new music we’ve heard from the great DJ Shadow since the release of The Outsider album in 2006, but it was well worth the wait. “Def Surounds Us” was premiered last week by UK jock Zane Lowe. The song masterfully blends dubstep and drum & bass rhythms with Shadow's signature soundscapes and sampling technique. During the radio interview, Shadow revealed that he currently has around 35-40 minutes of music finished for his new record. He hopes to wrap it up over the next five months for release in 2011.
