MEASURES // COAST FLIP MIX

A lot has happened to Jules Dressner, aka Measures, since he purchased his first cassette single- Busta Rhyme's "Woo Hah"-when he was 6 six years old; it was the beginning of the soundtrack that would ultimately bring the San Francisco based DJ/producer to where he is today.

Born and raised in New York City to a Jewish, ex Communist revolutionist and a very French chain smoking mother, it was clear from the get go that diversity would define the 23 year old' s life, and his musical background is no exception. From the inescapable thump of golden era hip-hop in the streets of New York, the cheesy 90's music videos on MTV, warehouse massives, the house music fueling Parisian nightlife or the wild, all night party antics of Montreal, Measures has seen and heard it all, incorporating the best aspects of these scenes together in his DJ set and productions. Measures' sound is a celebration of the music that he grew up with: a way of paying homage to the old through the new. But most of all, it's fun and doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's what good dance music should be.

Speaking of good dance music, we are proud to be the first to offer you Mr. Measures' brand new "Coast Flip" Mix. Measures has been steady on the grind, so be on the look out for more from this bright young lad.
